Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information GoVet Mobile collects, why, and who it is shared with. GoVet Mobile is practice-management software for mobile veterinary practices, operated by Litespeed LLC. It is used by veterinary practices and their staff — it is not a consumer service.

Who the information belongs to

Nearly all the information in GoVet Mobile belongs to the veterinary practice using it: their clients, their patients, their appointments and their records. Litespeed LLC stores and processes that information on the practice's behalf. Each practice's data is held in its own separate database, and is not combined with any other practice's.

If you are a client of a veterinary practice and want to know how your information is handled, or want it corrected or removed, contact your practice directly. They control it.

Information we collect

From practice staff who sign in

  • Name, email address and profile picture, released by the Google or Microsoft account used to sign in
  • Which practice the account belongs to, and what that person is permitted to do
  • When the account was last active

Entered by the practice

  • Client contact details, patient records, appointments, medical notes and attachments
  • Invoices and payment records
  • Consent records for clients who submitted a new-client request

Signing in, and permission to send email

You sign in to GoVet Mobile using your own existing Google or Microsoft account — the one your practice already uses. There is no separate GoVet Mobile password, and we never see the password for your Google or Microsoft account. Sign-in is handled by Auth0, our identity provider, which creates an account record for you and receives the basic profile your provider releases: your name, email address and profile picture.

As part of that first sign-in you are asked to grant GoVet Mobile permission to send email as your address. When you approve it, your provider issues a security token. That token is held by Auth0 on your behalf: it is not kept in our own database, is never sent to the browser, and is never shared with another practice. Our servers retrieve it from Auth0 only at the moment a message is being sent, and use it only to send that message.

This permission stays in effect until you revoke it. It is not limited to a single sign-in or session. It works that way because appointment reminders send on a schedule — including overnight, and at times when nobody is signed in — and because they are sent from your practice's own address, so your clients hear from their vet rather than from a company they have never heard of.

You can withdraw the permission at any time, without our involvement, from your own account settings: Google account permissions or Microsoft account permissions. Doing so ends our ability to send mail as that address, and GoVet Mobile will stop sending your reminders and correspondence.

The permission grants sending only. We do not read, search, download, delete or otherwise access the contents of any mailbox — not yours, and not anyone else's. No such access is possible with what we hold.

Google account data specifically

For a Google account, the permission described above is the gmail.send scope and nothing more. It is used for one purpose: sending appointment reminders, confirmations and practice correspondence to that practice's own clients.

GoVet Mobile's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: Google user data is used only to provide the features described above, is not transferred to others except as needed to provide those features or as required by law, is not used for advertising, and is not used to build profiles or train generalised AI or machine-learning models. No humans read this data except where you explicitly ask us to for support, where required by law, or for security purposes.

Who we share information with

We do not sell information, and we do not share it for advertising. Information is passed to these service providers only as far as needed to make a feature work:

  • Google Cloud and Firebase — hosting, databases and file storage
  • Auth0 — sign-in, account security, and safekeeping of the token that lets us send email as the practice
  • Google (Gmail) — sending email as the practice, where the practice signs in with Google
  • Microsoft — sending email as the practice, where the practice signs in with Microsoft
  • Twilio — sending appointment text messages on the practice's behalf
  • Stripe — processing card payments. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and are never stored by us
  • Documenso — electronic signature requests, where a practice uses them

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

Practice data is kept for as long as the practice uses GoVet Mobile, because it is their working record — veterinary records typically need to be retained for years under state law. If a practice ends its subscription, contact us to arrange export or deletion.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access requires signing in through Google or Microsoft, and what each staff member can see and change is governed by permissions the practice sets. Each practice's data is stored separately from every other practice's.

Children

GoVet Mobile is professional software and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date below. Continued use after a change means the updated policy applies.
